My weekend in bullet points and pics. :)
1. Yesterday we went to Ikea. It turns out that all of South Florida was there too. Of course! What else do you do on a 3 day weekend but redecorate? The daughter has needed a new bed forever, so we took down the old bunk beds that came from our former parsonage, and bought her a nice full size that she had picked out a while back. Sheets and a comforter, too, and we finally got the drapes up that we bought ages ago.
Here she is in
( Jonas Heaven )2. When hub was picking up screws and anchors for the curtain rods, he also picked up the bolt I needed to fix the Elliptical strider. So now I can really start working out here at home. It's too bloody hot to walk during the day, and too dangerous at night.
3. Two and a half years ago I bought a
Canon A430 Power Shot for our trip across country. If you remember, we'd been burgled and I had nothing to take with us to Las Vegas or the Grand Canyon. It's been a great little camera, but it died a few weeks ago during the Jaci Velasquez show. It seems to do all right (so far) with a flash indoors, but in outdoors? Nada but a bright washed out image. I thought it was the cheap SD card, but it wasn't.
I poked around online and found a new Canon that I really liked, but the price was just too steep and I wasn't willing to settle for a 3x or 4x zoom this time just to keep the price down. I'd made up my mind to go camara-less to the Jonas show with the daughter this week until I read today's sale ad for Circuit City.
I found this for less than half the price of the other. It's a
( Fujifilm S700 )7.1 megapixels, 10x optical zoom. It has a natural light setting that let me take this. It was in our family room which is dark paneling and very poor light. It adjusted for the deficiency. Also, I was a good eight feet away.
( a kitty, what else? )Almost forgot, we also picked up a pillow topper for our bed yesterday while at Ikea. It was deemed acceptable by the Queen Mother.
( Bow down to the Queen )So, no more spending money for me. For a looong time. lol.
Tomorrow we have to clean up the boxes and stuff that the bed pieces were packed in, and deliver the bunk beds to a man from our church. He's raising his five grandchildren alone, they're all between the ages of 3 and 9. The oldest is a boy, the rest are girls. God bless him.

If you're in the path of Gustav, I hope you have evacuated long before now. My prayers are with all of you for your safety and for your safe return home.
For those in the potential path of Hanna, the same prayers are with you.
